While canvassing for Congress Lok Sabha candidate Rao Dharampalin Gurgaon, he said that it is because of the welfare policies pursued by Centre's UPA government that the people have got the right to employment and food.
    
"It is the result of such policies of the UPA government that about 15 crore people who were earlier below the poverty line, now fall in the middle class bracket," he said.
    
"The next target of the Congress is to uplift 70 lakh below-poverty-line people to the middle class," Hooda said.
    
The Chief Minister said that about nine crore unemployed people of the country had been provided employment under the right to employment.
    
Hooda said that Haryana has emerged as a symbol of development and as per facts and figures the State has even outshined Gujarat.
    
Later, the Haryana Chief Minister appealed to the people to cast their votes in favour of Congress.
