The Pentagon press secretary, Rear Admiral John Kirby, while briefing the  media, said the US was concerned about the presence of terrorists in  Pakistan and it would consistently communicate with the Pakistani government on this issue.

He went on to say terrorism was a global and widespread challenge and to defeat and overcome it was something that needed cooperation.

"In correlation to this, ties between the US and the Pakistani government and army are consistently building," he added. Adm. Kirby said there was no need to pressurise Pakistan to overcome the challenge of terrorism and it was up to the Pakistani government that they rise up on their own feet for the betterment of its people.
