Since October 2013, a record number of student visa seekers have applied in India, it said.
   
"Student visa issuances increased by 40 per cent as compared to the same period in the previous year," it said.
   
Nearly, 100,000 Indian students are currently studying in US.

New Delhi: The American Embassy will celebrate 'Student Visa Day' on June 19 during which those applying for higher studies in US will be treated to a festive and collegiate atmosphere.
