Balrampur: Two persons alleged to be members of a gang involved in illicit fire-arms trade, were on Sunday arrested, a senior officer said.

Acting on a tip off, a police team arrested Shoaib and Kasim and recovered five pistols and ammunition from them, SP Dharmendra Singh Yadav said.

Shoaib belongs to Shravasti district, whereas Kasim hails from Munger district in Bihar, he said.

The two used to procure illicit fire-arms from Munger and supply them to people in Uttar Pradesh, Yadav said.

Efforts were on to arrest two more members of the gang, the SP said.
