"The CM has written a letter to Union Minister of State for Power and Coal Piyush Goyal in this regard," an official spokesman said here.
The Chief Minister in the letter said MoUs were signed between the state and nine private industrialists to set up power projects with generation capacity of 10,340 MW power.
These projects need coal linkage for of 25 years.
Akhilesh further said that a meeting of linkage committee of the Coal Ministry has been pending for a long time now.
Though these industrialists submitted their applications on time, no action has so far been taken on providing coal linkage, he said.
Due to delay in allocation of linkage two industrialists had withdrawn from 1,320 MW Sandila project and 1,980 MW Lalitpur extension project, he added.
Of the seven projects, work on 1980 MW Lalitpur project was under way so that its first unit of 660 MW could be commissioned from July 1 2015.
He said that long-term linkage has not been allocated for this project and an ad-hoc arrangement has been made only for unit number one.
