"The state government on Tuesday cleared the Mughal museum project," Dinesh Kumar, official at the UP tourism said.
    
The museum will cost the state exchequer Rs 143 crores, Amrit Abhijat, Director General of UP Tourism said.

Services of renowned international architects, museum and history experts would be rendered and a number of archaeological bodies in Europe would be roped in for the execution of this ambitious project, officials informed.

The museum will primarily focus on Mughal culture, artifacts, paintings, cuisine, costumes, handicrafts, performing arts, arms and ammunition, they added.
    
Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav was particularly keen that Agra gets its due and becomes worthy of a great monument like the Taj Mahal," Roli Tiwari Mishra, member of the UP state Women's Commission said.
    
"Work on improving the Yamuna river front and ensure a minimum flow round the year will also begin soon as promised by the PWD minister Shiv Pal Yadav ji," she added.
