UPCC president Rita Bahuguna Joshi gave four options for the venue of the Mahapanchayat that includes Bhatta, Parsaul, Jewar and Rabupura. For this, Gautam Budh Nagar district Congress president Vikram Singh Bhati sent a formal application to the District Magistrate of Greater Noida on Wednesday seeking permission to hold the Mahapanchayat.

But citing about security issue, OP Arya, ADM, has refused to grant permission to hold Mahapanchayat in Bhatta-Parsaul and Jewar.

“The farmers may come from different parts of the state to attend the Mahapanchayat. Many high- profile people are also expected to chip in the conglomeration, hence it would not be possible to provide security cover to them,” he said.

The administration is said to take a legal action against the Congress functionaries on holding the Mahapanchayat without permission.
