New Delhi: The revenue department officials of the Uttar Pradesh government are working overtime to collect dues from the concerned departments. As per reports it has so far collected more than Rs 4 lakh revenue from different departments during the two days of vacation.

Transport Commissioner Alok Kumar has instructed district authorities to collect dues as soon as possible and has also ordered to keep the concerned office open even on holidays so that the target could be achieved. However, the office remained open for two days despite vacation announced during this time period due to Janmashthami.

Officials not happy over schedule

Though the revenue department’s office was kept open for the two days but officials did not seem happy over the order of opening it on the holidays.

In this regard one of the employees of the department, Sachidanand Mishra said that the office remained open despite it being a holiday.

On the other, another official NK Singh said that the transport department is trying to collect as much revenue as possible by keeping the office open even on holidays.
