Amrit Abhijaat, director general of Uttar Pradesh tourism, said that link roads connecting heritage sites and main roads are invariably found to be in bad shape and are seen as a deterrent to tourist influx.

He said the link roads would now be world class as desired by Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav.

Under the new fund, secretary tourism would hand over a list to the secretary of Public Works department (PWD) enumerating the roads which are crucial for tourists but  are not in a good shape.

These roads will then be constructed by the PWD, utilising the funds.
