Dehra Dun: Fulfilling his election promise, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Vijay Bahuguna on Friday began the process of distributing papers related to land ownership rights to people in his Sitarganj constituency in Kumaon region.

In the first phase, Bahuguna presented papers to Jaswant Acharya, Vaidyanath, Ramakant, Ashutosh Acharya, Prabhash Goldar and Sandhya during a public meeting.

He also laid foundation stone of Degree College and Polytechnic Buildings at Baruabagh in the area. People in Sitarganj, who are mostly Bangaldeshi settlers, were given land on lease decades ago.

But before the July 9 bye-election, Bahuguna had promised that all the people would get the ownership rights in Sitarganj for which the government issued the necessary order.
