Rawat was rushed to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences.  He is reported to be out of danger now.

According to sources, Union Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan said that the plane must have collided with clouds due to turbulence and Rawat's belt was not tied so his head hit the roof. He further added that a Cervical Collar has been applied to Rawat’s neck.

A specialized team of doctors will analyze on Saturday whether he needs a surgery or not.

"He had come to AIIMS at 7.30 pm with complaints of backache and pain in the back of the neck. He has been admitted in the orthopedic department and his condition is being examined and investigated," AIIMS spokesperson Amit Gupta said.

Rawat was coming from Dehradun to Delhi when his helicopter made a forced landing at Ved Niketan Swargashram due to bad weather and atmospheric turbulence.
