Dehradun: Uttarakhand government has named Satyavrat Bansal, 1976 batch IPS officer, as the next Director General of Police of the state. Bansal will take charge on September 30. He is currently serving as DG (Vigilance).
 
The government announced the name of new DGP on Thursday. Vinita Kumar, Principal Secretary Home, informed that IPS Satyavrat Bansal has been appointed as the next DGP. Bansal will replace the current DGP Vijay Raghav Pant who retires on September 30. Bansal will also hold additional charge of DG (Vigilance).

Bansal said that controlling the crime graph and developing a sense of trust among common people towards police will be his top priorities.
