Pauri Garhwal: Feeling cheated by the Uttarakhand government,Tehri parliamentarian Vijay Bahuguna, son of noted politician and former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister late Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna has asked the state government to return the keys of his native house located in Bhugani village.

In 2006,the then Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, Narain Dutt Tiwari had announced to develop Bahuguna’s ancestral residence as a museum. The move was initiated by the state CM as a tribute to Bahuguna.  Vijay handed over the keys of his ancestral house to the state governmen after the state government made a declaration in this regard.

While addressing media at the Circuit House, Vijay said “Although five years have gone by there has been no development and it is extremely painful to find the house locked.” He pointed out that in 2008, District Magistrate, Pauri, had forwarded an estimate to set up the museum to the state government. However ,since then the issue has been lying in abeyance. According to Tehri parliamentarian, the ignorance by state authorities has left his ancestral house in a fiasco.

Vijay even alleged that the BJP state government for not utilising the funds allocated for the minority,Scheduled Tribe, Scheduled Caste and other backward classes. He further the accusede the government for not paying enough attention to the power projects and tourism sector.
