Dehradun: While the people of India are reeling under the scorching petrol prices, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Bhuwan Chandra Khanduri has provided a breather to the state natives by reducing the price of petrol by 45 paise.

The Union government had hiked petro price by Rs 1.82 per litre on Novmber 3. In a major respite to the people, who are already suffering from economic slowdown and essential commodities price hike, the Uttarakhand government has decided not to charge the state’s share.

Earlier, Khanduri had provided a big relief by making petrol cheaper in September. The Chief Minister relieved people of 25 percent VAT on the increased rate of petrol.

Khanduri’s decision was welcomed with open hands as he has provided a relief of Rs 1.23 per litre within two months.
