Dehradun:  Amid rising cases of dengue in the state, Health Minister of Uttarakhand, Surendra Singh Negi has asked people to take precautionary measures.

He told the Director General, Health services of the state to issue instructions to the CMOs (Chief Medical Officers) of all districts to make people aware of measures taken by the authorities in this regard.

However, Negi clarified that reports about a person falling victim to dengue at Kotdwar has been proved wrong and the details of pathology test of the patient also doesn’t hint towards the fact that patient had any symptoms of dengue. He also urged the people to take precautionary measures.

As part of measures to grapple with dengue cases, he asked people to cover water tanks of their houses apart from preventing water logging on the roofs of the buildings as well as in flower pots and also changing water stagnant in coolers on a regular basis and using mosquito curtains.
