Dehradun: At least six persons lost their lives in Uttarakhand’s Nainital district, as they came under the impact of landslide, triggered by a heavy spell of rains in Bheemal area, officials said on Friday.

Five members of a family and one more person were buried in the landslide, which is a resultant of the incessant rains. Police confirmed the death of six persons and the Met department predicted more rains in the region.

Seven persons, all labourers, were killed two days back in Chamoli when a JCB machine caved in and fell into a gorge while clearing rubble from the road. Apart from that, heavy rains continued to disrupt rescue and rehabilitation work in Kedarnath and Badrinath area.
