Dehradun: The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is likely to issue its election manifesto by December 15 for the Uttrakhand Assembly polls.

Former state BJP president and election manifesto committee chairman Bachi Singh Rawat said, “The issues related to education, health, agri industry would be included in the manifesto.”

On being asked about the probable candidates, Rawat said, “The survey conducted on the direction of party president Nitin Gadkari has been completed. A final decision in this context will be taken by party president.”

He pointed out that several factors including party members image, popularity and dedication will play a major role in finalising the candidates.

During his recent visit to the state, Gadkari had made the party policies for selection of candidates clear. Possibilities are high that the BJP may not field all its sitting legislators in the next assembly polls.
