Chandigarh: Vendors, waste picker and domestic workers in Haryana will also be covered under the National Health Insurance Scheme.

The scheme will also be extended to those labourers who have worked under Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGA) for 15 days and did not have a BPL card, an official spokesman said here on Monday.

He said that a campaign would be launched in the state from August 1 to October 31 to enroll members under the scheme.

Under the scheme, each BPL family gets reimbursement of medical bills up to Rs 30,000.

The Haryana government had last week extended the benefit of the scheme to street vendors.
