Jamshedpur: The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) has called a dawn-to-dusk Jamshedpur Bandh on Friday to protest against ransacking of an amusement park in Jamshedpur on Tuesday and brickbatting during a rally on August 10.

The bandh was called to protest against the two incidents, VHP's Kolhan in-charge Suman Agarwal said demanding immediate arrest of the culprits involved in the incidents.

BJP has extended its moral support to the bandh, BJP East Singhbhum district President, Raj Kumar Srivastav said.

City SP Ajay Linda told that adequate security arrangement have been made in view of Friday’s bandh.

Several schools have declared holiday on Friday in view of the bandh.

Meanwhile, the police said they have arrested altogether 20 persons in connection with the amusement park incident on Tuesday when a mob ransacked an amusement park and beat up its employees injuring six persons.

One more person was arrested over brick-batting near district headquarter during a protest rally on August 10 taken out by the minority community in protest against incidents of Assam and Myanmmar.

Besides, a former journalist, who allegedly forwarded threat SMSes pertaining to the incidents in Assam and Myanmar was also interrogated and set free on PR bond on Wednesday.
