New Delhi: In a bid to avoid any untoward incident in the Valley, the Jammu and Kashmir police on Thursday detained Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) leader Praveen Togadia at Jammu airport.

The police informed Togadia that he has been denied permission by the state administration and was asked to return.

Irked over the incident, Togadia said that it’s against the basic rights. He said that he was neither allowed to attend the programme nor to pay visit to Holy Shrine of Mata Vaishno Devi.

“If Yasin Malik, who shared dais with 26/11 Mumbai terror attack Hafiz Saeed, can go anywhere then why not me?” added Togadia.

It is to be noted that separatist leader Yasin Malik had protested the hanging of Parliament attack convict Afzal Guru by sitting on hunger strike in Pakistan. While sitting on strike, Yasin had shared the dais with Saeed.
