The new 4.0 version brings a slightly different set of functions for both the aforesaid platforms. For Android tablet users, this instant messaging utility now supports slates as well. Also, one of the most important additions is that of the stickers. Subscribers can use over 1000 stickers which are available in the market. These are compatible on all iOS and Android gadgets.

Viber has also launched a push-to-talk function. This function lets users send short voice messages to each other. Other fresh features of the updated version include group conversations for up to 100 participants, message forwarding to any group or contact, and the option to choose conversation backgrounds from a gallery.

Both Viber for iOS and Android are now available as a free download from the App Store and the Google Play Store. The iOS app requires iOS 5.0 or later firmware version whereas any Android device running version 2.2 or higher firmware is compatible with the app.
