Bhopal: Vidisha Collector Anand Kumar Sharma was seriously injured in a road accident, police said on Monday.
He was travelling in his car which collided with a speeding truck at Pachore in Rajgarh district last evening. The accident took place when the Collector was going to Indore from Sironj town, police said.
Sharma suffered serious injuries on his head, jaws and right hand, after being given first-aid at a hospital in Pachore, he was referred to Indore's Bombay Hospital for further treatment, they said.
Besides Sharma, his gunman Ramprasad Kanheriya and driver Mahesh Soni were also seriously injured. But all three are stated to be out of danger, police added.
A case has been registered against the truck driver. The Collector had gone to Sironj to attend a marriage function at the residence of Madhya Pradesh Public Relations Minister Laxmikant Sharma, they said.
