New Delhi: Vignesh Peranamallur stunned second seed Rohan Gajjar in straight sets to storm into the quarterfinals of the USD 15,000 ITF men''s singles event at the DLTA complex on Wednesday.

Vignesh, who played with a stomach tear, defeated Gajjar 6-3 7-5 to set up a clash against seventh seed Vijayant Malik, who defeated Vignesh Veerabadran 6-3 6-2.

In another second round match, top seed Yuki Bhambri outclassed unseeded Mohit Mayur Jayaprakash 6-2 6-1.

Yuki will take on eighth seed Karunuday Singh, who beat Abhijeet Tiwari 6-4 6-2.

Among other seeded players, fourth-seeded N Vijay Sundar Prashanth quelled the challenge of Ashwin Vijayragavan 6-1 6-4 while third seed Ranjit Virali Murugesan beat Sweden''s Lucas Renard 6-2 6-3.
