New Delhi: Riding on a superb show by man of the match Wasim Jaffer and devastating Abhiskek Nayar, Mumbai trounced Delhi by 140 runs at Ferozshah Kotla stadium in New Delhi on Saturday.

With this win, Mumbai has stormed into the final of Vijay Hazare Trophy tournament and will face vigorous Bengal on March 12.

Electing to bat first, Mumbai were off to a sturdy start at Ferozshah Kotla.

Opener Wasim Jaffer laid the foundation with a solid 92, which came off 110 balls, but it was Abhishek Nayar's belligerent knock of 72 off a mere 41 deliveries, which propelled Mumbai to a commanding 295 for five on Saturday.

In the absence of Gautam Gambhir, Delhi was in immense pressure before a mammoth target of 295 runs and was all out for 155 runs in 45 overs.

For Delhi, Shikhar Dhawan (34) and Unmukt Chand (12) added 40 runs for the opening wicket.

After that Mumbaikars storm vandalised Delhi and sent their top five batsmen for just 18 runs.

Jagriti Anand (51) and Yogesh Nagar (30) tried to propel Delhi but couldn’t resist before Mumbai pace attack.

Delhi bowlers seemed losing their rhythm in the morning and gave runs sloppily.

Nehra did not bat. Revandkar finished up three wickets for Mumbai while Waingankar and Iqbal Abdulla chipped in with two apiece.
