New Delhi: Discarded from Indian cricket team, Harbhajan Singh went wicketless but led his team to an easy 4-wicket win over Haryana in the Vijay Hazare Trophy at the Services Ground in Palam on Monday.

Electing to bat first, Haryana team scored 243/6 against Punjab.

Riding on a scintillating all-round show by Amitoze Singh, Punjab successfully chased the target in 46.4 overs and pummeled Haryana in the crucial match.

Amitoze scored an unbeaten 76 runs and scalped one wicket giving 28 runs for his team.

Punjab captain Harbhajan bowled eight overs giving away 46 runs without any success while Manpreet Gony (2/40) returned with best figures.

Haryana captain Nitin Saini scored 77 off 101 balls with the help of four boundaries and all-rounder Sachin Rana contributed 59 runs and smashed three fours and two maximums.

For Punjab, middle-order batsman Amitoze Singh (76, 56 balls, 7x4, 2x6) and his partnership of 61 runs for the sixth wicket with Bipul Sharma (29 not out) in just 8.3 overs proved to be the clincher.
