The 26-year-old batsman, who recently enjoyed his first Test series win as captain after leading India to a 2-1 victory over Sri Lanka, saw his following on Twitter grow to 8.01 million and the Delhi boy was quick to acknowledge the love of his fans.

"8 Million Followers! Absolutely Delighted. Thank You everyone for the immense love! #Grateful," Kohli tweeted on Sunday (September 6) with a photo him flashing 'V' sign.

Interestingly cricket icon Sachin Tendulkar has 7.73 million fans following him on Twitter while ODI skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni has 4.52 million Twitter followers. Batsman Suresh Raina too is in the 4-million club.

At 26, Kohli has already broken several batting records and is being seen as someone who could better Tendulkar's feats.
