Una: Alleging the Prem Kumar Dhumal led government of sheltering land mafias in Himachal Pradesh, Union Minister Virbhadra Singh said the CM was favouring close aides in the wrongdoings.

“Manipulating rules and regulations made for benefit of general public, the government is selling rights of the poor,” said Singh.

In an interaction with media persons, Singh remarked, “Multi-crore land deals are taking place in Shimla. Land deals were being finalized from Oak Over to Jalandhar. The people of the state are not benefitting but few influential politicians are.”

He said that the law and order situation in the state was deteriorating. “This is the reason Dhumal’s son Anurag Thakur, MP, is roaming with escort. Only Shanta Kumar of the BJP led the state government effectively,” he added.

“If the mistakes were not committed while allotting the party candidates in last assembly elections, the Congress would have been in power in the state,” Singh mentioned.

The Bhakra Beas Management Board (BBMB) projects included Rajasthan, Haryana, Punjab and Delhi only, whereas Himachal was not included in it.

“After being denied our just share in BBMB projects, it was the Congress government that had taken the matter to court. The verdict will help the state in a bigger way,” he said.

“The Una district has sufficient land and micro, small and medium industries will be developed here,” he added.
Singh further said that despite Lokayukta’s appointment from a long time, it did not show any impact on corruption related cases.
