Till now, Khans- Salman, Shah Rukh and Amir, besides Akshay Kumar and Hrithik Roshan and some others have been fortunate enough to lead their films in the club of Rs 100 crore earning films. But Kamal Haasan starrer spy thriller, produced with the expenditure of Rs 95 crore, has left all other films behind by crossing the magic figure of Rs 200 crore in terms of earning.

It is to be noted that the film had to face many hiccups, especially in Tamil Nadu, at the time of its release. Several Muslim organisations in Chennai had said that screening of the spy thriller will affect the social harmony of the state following which the film was banned.

It was alleged that the film had depicted people of Muslim community in bad light. The film hit the silver screen in Tamil Nadu only after the actor agreed to edit some controversial parts of his film. Apart from Kamal Haasan, the film features Rahul Bose in lead role.
