New Delhi: The skyrocketing prices of petrol and diesel are adding to the woes of the consumers across the world. Those who are planning to purchase new cars are now mainly focusing on the mileage of vehicles before making any choice. XL1 is a perfect solution to this problem.

Global auto major Volkswagen has developed a hybrid car which claims to give a mileage of 111 kmpl.  The two-seater Volkswagen XL1 hybrid car is fitted with an electric engine of 27 horse power. Apart from this, the hybrid car also has a two-cylinder diesel engine with the power of 47 bhp.

The company has made all possible efforts to maximize the efficiency of the car. Carbon fiber metal has been used to keep the vehicle’s weight as low as 800 kg. The breakthrough vehicle was first unveiled at Geneva motor show.    
The aerodynamic XL 1 has 7-gear transmission with dual clutch gear box. The Volkswagen is planning to launch 700 cars in Germany which will not be on sale for now. Actually they will be available for the use of people for a limited period.

The 65 inch wide and 45 inch high hybrid car is capable of picking up a high speed of 100 kmph within a few seconds. Navigation system is also installed in the vehicle. It is also very comfortable for the driver as it has more controls on the steering.
