New Delhi: Supporters are showing their solidarity for Anna Hazare’s movement against corruption in different ways. In order to get the anti-graft movement going, many volunteers have ventured out to fill the empty stomach of the supporter’s thronging Ramlila Maidan. Notably, till now Rs 50 lakh have been spent on food.

Around eight organisations are engaged in this volunteer service and are feeding over 1.5 lakh supporters everyday for free.  According to the organizers, more than Rs 50 lakh has been spent so far.

Insisting on disclosing the amount spent on feeding the supporters of this anti-corruption campaign, Gauri Shankar, chief of Bhandara Amarnath Yatra Seva Trust, organiser Babu Lal Garg and Ramesh Bansal said the food for about 20 thousand people is being prepared daily by the organisations at a cost of Rs 90,000 – Rs 1lakh.

Sanjay Gautam, head of Naya Yug Nayi Soch in Rohini said, “We are feeding bout 12 to 15 thousand people every day.”
