According to sources, company will unveil the Volvo XC90 SUV in India in second half of this year. Not only this, the limelight has shifted to the company's all-new hatchback Volvo V40, V40 Cross Country's affordable variant which was launched in June 2013 in India.

Volvo V40 hatchback's design and platform is akin to Volvo V40 Cross Country, variations can be observed on the exterior front. The hatchback variants does not get the same aggressive and fierce look, emboldened with sump guards, roof rails, side body cladding and larger alloy wheels.

Absence of sump guards on the hatchback's rear surface, the front is equipped with  newly designed horizontal day-time running lights. On the innards, it gets split rear seats, an added advantage is that they can be folded.

Initially, the Volvo V40 hatchback will be launched  in the front wheel drive version which is powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged diesel engine that can give out a maximum power output of 152PS and a peak torque of 360Nm with ARAI certified fuel-economy of 16.8kmpl.

The hatchback variant is likely to be priced between Rs 23 lakh to Rs 28 lakh whereas, Volvo V40 Cross Country is priced at Rs. 32.5 lakh.
