Ernestine Shepherd is a female body builder from America. Well, if you are wondering what is the big deal in being a female body builder then hold on your breath, Ernestine Shepherd is the oldest body-builder in the world who recently turned 80.

Born on June 16th, 1936, Ernestine started exercising when she was 56 years old, and since then she’s gone on to win two bodybuilding titles. From 2010 to 2011, Shepherd was even declared the Oldest Competitive Body-builder in the world by the Guinness Book of World Records.

This African-American believes in discipline, determination, and hard work. She follows a strict routine and does not compromise with her schedule. No wonder that she is a die-hard fan of Sylvester Stallone, the Rocky of Hollywood.

She wakes up at 3am, runs about 80 miles (130km) per week, and consumes calorie-controlled diet comprising boiled egg whites, chicken, vegetables, and plenty of water.

At the age of 80, when most people choose to lead a withdrawn life, Ernestine Shepherd sweats profusely at the gym. When asked about the secret of her success, Ernestine gives the simple and effective answer, ‘never give up’.
