The film industry stood with Salman by showing unprecedented support. Salman, who is now at home, has been granted an interim bail by Bombay High Court for two days.

Earlier, he was held guilty of rash and negligent driving when he was behind the wheel of the Land Cruiser that killed one man and injured four others in suburban Bandra in September 2002.

Heartbroken fans of Salman argued that superstar was hounded by the media and he became an easy target because of his celebrity status, while others lauded the judiciary, terming the sentence appropriate.
