Chandigarh: The water level at Bhakra Nangal Dam has crossed the danger mark. According to the figures provided by the Irrigation Department, the water level reached a bit above the total capacity of the dam.
On Wednesday, the water level reached the danger mark of 1680.57 feet, which is 0.57 feet above the dam capacity.
As per the information provided by the government spokesperson, owing to the inflow of 39,000 cusecs of water from the upstream, 36,142 cusecs of water has been released in Beas River.
The spokesperson mentioned about the Pong dam. Presently, the dam is holding 1388.62 feet of water against the capacity of 1390 feet. Owing to the inflow of more than 18,000 cusecs of water from the upstream 14,560 cusecs of water has been released into Beas River.
On the other side, over 33,000 cusecs of water from Harike dam and 33,453 cusecs from Hussainiwala dam is released into Sutlej River. The water level at Ranjeet Sagar Dam too is on the verge to cross the danger mark.
