Madhya Pradesh:After the monsoon rains, life is slowly returning back to normal in Madhya Pradesh. Several rivers that had swelled due to heavy rainfall are now flowing below the danger mark making transportation and commutation feasible. On the other hand heavy rains have resulted in water logging in agricultural fields thus damaging the crops.

Heavy downpour in the recent days threw life completely out of gear in the state. Rivers like Narmada, Betwa, and Tapti were flowing above the danger mark thereby largely affecting the regions of Hoshangabad, Devas, Harda, Raisena and Vidisha.

Several areas in the region were inundated in flood waters forcing thousands to leave their houses and take refuge.

Agricultural lands in Vidisha, Raisena and Hoshangabad are still waterlogged posing a threat to the several hectares of standing crops. Meanwhile the government is carrying out a survey to assess the extent of the damage caused by floods.
