New Delhi: The West Bengal Congress MPs have reason to smile as they are likely to be inducted into the Union Cabinet in the next reshuffle.

Speculations are rife that West Bengal Pradesh Congress Committee president and Rajya Sabha MP Pradeep Bhattacharya, Berhampore strongman Adhir Chowdhury, state Youth Congress president and north Malda MP Mausam Noor and Raigunj MP Deepa Dasmunshi are likely to be given cabinet berth.

By inducting Mausam Noor into the Union Cabinet, the Congress managers will fill the minority quota from the state. She has been raising voices against TMC in the state.

Since the elevation of Pranab Mukherjee to the Rashtrapati Bhawan, the state has no representation in the Union Cabinet.

The six Trinamool Congress ministers on Friday submitted their resignations to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh opposing the FDI in retail and diesel price hike by the Central government making Cabinet reshuffle imminent.

The Congress has devised strategy to strengthen its state unit, which is expected to face political attack from both Trinamool and the Left Front.
