The West Bengal Board Madhyamik Result has an important role in shaping the career of a student. Using the WB 10th result students can join for Intermediate courses in science, arts or commerce streams. The admission procedure for senior secondary courses will begin right after the declaration of the West Bengal 10th Result 2016.

The West Bengal Madhyamik Board is the apex educational Board of the State. The Board conducts examination at Madhyamik level, every year, to assess the performance of students. In the previous year, the West Bengal Madhyamik Result was declared on 22 May. Boys had outperformed girls and the Board recorded a pass percentage of 82.66%. Taking the gender wise performance into consideration, the pass percentage of girls was 79.12 while that of boys was 86.61. The highest pass percentage was recorded at East Midnapore (94.70%) followed by Kolkata (91.41%) and South Parganas (90.31%). A total of 1026877 students had appeared for the examination out of which 475287 were boys and 551590 were girls.
