This was the first public speech by the Defence Minister post the surgical strikes, Manohar Parrikar asserts that conducting a surgical strikes without sacrificing lives of soldiers is the rarest thing and India made it possible.

“We carried out a 100% perfect surgical strike, our nation carries the heart & courage to carry this task out”, said Defence Minister.

Manohar Parrikar was involved in a round chorus hailing surgical strikes a day after Prime Minister Narendra Modi clearly warned all the ministers to refrain from ‘chest thumping’ over the strikes in PoK.

Hitting out at Arvind Kejriwal and Sanjay Nirupam over their demand to release the videos of the surgical strikes on the terror launch-pads in PoK, the Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar pronounced that Army doesn’t need to disclose video keeping the security of the nation at the stake just to give a proof to few people.

“There are many people who are not loyal to our country and criticised Indian Army, but we don’t have to give them any proof,” said Parrikar.

Ex-servicemen showing the true spirit for the love of motherland wrote to Manohar Parrikar that they are ready to serve the country during the time of urgency.

"Some ex-servicemen wrote to me and said that they are ready to fight on the border if need arises.I salute them," said Manohar Parrikar.

Manohar Parrikar was invited by the state unit to felicitate him for the surgical strikes in wake of Uri attack which claimed the lives of 19 soldiers.

Manohar Parrikar's First Comment On Surgical Strikes
In his first remarks after the cross LoC anti-terror strike, Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar compared Pakistan's condition to an ‘anaesthetised patient’ after a surgery.

“Pakistan's condition after the surgical strikes is like that of an anaesthetised patient after a surgery who doesn't know that the surgery has already been performed on him. Even two days after the surgical strikes, Pakistan has no idea what has happened," Parrikar said.

Case Filed Against Kejriwal, Chidambaram, Nirupam On Surgical Strike
A case was on Wednesday filed in a district court with a prayer to prosecute Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Congress leaders P Chidambaram and Sanjay Nirupam under sedition law for their statements on the surgical strike in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir by the Army.

The three leaders were alleged to have sought proof in support of the claim that the Indian Army had conducted the strikes across the LoC in PoK.

 

Arvind Kejriwal Demands Proof Of Surgical Strike
In a rare gesture, Kejriwal had ‘saluted’ Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the surgical strikes by the Army on terror launch pads across the LoC. At the same time, he had urged the Centre to counter the smear campaign by Pakistan and international media, but BJP alleged that Kejriwal had in the garb of his statement questioned the Army's ‘assertion’ on surgical strike and ‘insulted’ the armed forces.

Army Hands Over Clips To Govt, Debate Over Its Release
The Army has handed over to the government video clips of the cross-LoC surgical strikes as per laid down procedure amid a growing chorus that evidence of the operation on terror launch pads in PoK be made public.

“The laid down procedure has been followed. The DGMO briefed (about the surgical strikes). It was not the Defence Minister nor the Prime Minister and not the Home Minister. It was the DGMO who briefed (the media). That was the right thing to do and they (Army) did it. There was a time when written documents were submitted. Now the times have changed. Now clips are given and the clips have been given," Union Minister Hansraj Ahir told reporters.
