"Our great national leaders have had a lot of accomplishments. We should not feel any need to denigrate any one of our heroes. What they accomplished is what we are living today," Tharoor told reporters.

"Congress is focused on tomorrow, why these people are focused on yesterday? History is about the great national heroes. Our freedom is their legacy," he added.

In the December issue of 'Congress Darshan', questions have been raised on Jawaharlal Nehru's decision for the state of affairs in Kashmir, China and Tibet.

The article clearly states that Nehru should have listened to freedom fighter and former home minister Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel's views on international affairs. It also criticised Sonia Gandhi and said her father was a fascist soldier.
