Kolkata: The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) along with the local police has become active in the Maoists infested areas of Jangalmahal after the open declaration by the West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee fight against the red terrors.
 
In order to tighten the noose around the Maoists, the security forces are arresting suspected Maoists operating in the vicinity of Jangalmahal and have seized huge quantities of arms and ammunitions from different areas of the state.

Despite several ultimatums given by the state government, the Maoists are continuing to create menace in the state. It is due to this reason the Ministry of Home Affairs has ordered to send two new battalions of paramilitary forces to West Bengal. Presently, six battalions of the CRPF are present in the state to handle the unlawful activities unleashed by the Maoists.

The Centre has also assured the WB government to give assistance for its fights against Maoists.
