"For agro-based industries one has to own land and if that does not happen, then the government will provide land if possible," Ghatak said on the sidelines of a programme in Kolkata.
"We will give clearances to agro-based projects within 45 days of applying," he said.
Underlining that the Trinamool Congress government was giving ample importance to agro-based industries, Ghatak said that the state government was sincere in its efforts in uplifting the farmers in the state.
"We have already distributed 60 lakh Kishan Credit Cards. Under this scheme, farmers will get Rs 50,000 loan, at an interest rate of 7 percent. And if the loans are repaid on time, an additional 4 percent discount on interest rates will be provided, taking the actual effective interest rate to 3 percent," the minister added.
