Kolkata: Taking concrete step for initiating peace process in Junglemahal, the West Bengal Cabinet has decided to set up 20 police training centres. The tribal youths of Junglemahal, who will be recruited as special constables, will be given training to face the challenges of Red Terror.

The decision was taken in the cabinet meeting on Monday which was presided over by the Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. The meeting also decided that a corporation will be set up to buy foodgrains directly from the farmers.

Commerce and Industries Minister Partha Chatterjee said, “Announcement to provide police jobs to 10,000 people has already been made. In this respect, 20 training centres will be opened.”

Also speaking on the issue of setting up an Agricultural Marketing Corporation, Chatterjee said, “With this corporation, the farmers will no longer be cheated.”

Meanwhile, the CM has asked all the ministers to keep themselves confined to their own constituencies during the Durga Puja for the sake of peace in Junglemahal.
