Zimbabwe has been known as the testing ground for budding Indian cricketers, and Dhoni was one of them. He was made a part of India A Team which took on Zimbabwe and Kenya in a tri-nation series in 2004.

Dhoni managed to impress the selectors with his all-round performance as a wicket-keeper/batsman. During that tour, he scored two successive tons (120 and 119 vs Pakistan) and a half century. There was no looking back for MS Dhoni after this, as he was inducted into the Indian squad and made his debut against Bangladesh in the year 2004.

The three-match T20 series between India and Zimbabwe starts today at 4:30 pm (IST).
