"It was everyone's reaction... people wanted me to be nicer (on screen). But now, they feel like hating and beating me up. Yesterday, Helen aunty gave me a sweet compliment saying that she wants to murder me," Divya said.

"The reaction for this film... If more people hate me, I'll like it. Some are terming me as a devil, while some are calling me Cinderella's stepsister. So, it is a different kind of response for me. But I'm grateful to people for hating me," she added.

In the film, which also stars Shabana Azmi and Juhi Chawla, Divya Dutta plays a principal who only looks at the commercial aspect of education.

"I've always chosen films with my own mind and you feel like applying your mind in such a film and in doing such roles. When both the critics and audiences love you, it is very fortunate for an actor," she said.
