On occasion of his birthday lets take a look at Aamir's phenomenal journey in Bollywood:

1988: Aamir Khan's  made a dream debut through the highly successful tragic romantic saga Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak (QSQT) opposite Juhi Chawla.

1989: Just after QSQT, Aamir earned lots of accolades and awards in thriller

1990: Aamir did a couple of movies this year out of which 'Dil' came out in flying colours.

1991: His romantic comedy drama film 'Dil Hai Ki Manta Nahi' too was a great success.

1992: Aamir's remarkable sports film 'Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikander' was a huge hit. In the movie Aamir played the role of a poor student which tried to impress the rich, elite crowd at school.

1993: Aamir's comedy-drama 'Hum Hain Rahi Pyaar Ke' was a huge hit.

1994: 'Andaz apna apna' was a multi-starrer movie which was much liked by Aamir fans.

1995: The Bollywood musical drama 'Rangeela' also garnered praise.

1996: 'Raja Hindustani' became the first movie which bought the first Filmfare Award for Best Actor to Aamir Khan.

1997: Aamir Khan, Juhi Chawla, Ajay Devgn, Kajol starrer film 'Ishq' bought further fame and recognition to the actor.

1998: Aamir appeared in Canadian-Indian co-production movie 'Earth'.

1998: The actor featured in action drama film 'Ghulam' in which he sang the song 'Aati Kya Khandala' which went viral.

2001: Aamir came back with a legendary Bollywood movie 'Lagaan'. The movie was a remarkable movie in the history of cinema.

2001: Again Aamir grabbed eye balls with his hit movie ' Dil Chahta Hai' where Aamir, Saif and Akshay Khanna's equation in the film was much appreciated.

2005: Aamir Khan came back with 'Mangel Pandey'.

2006: Aamir won Filmfare Critics Award for Best Actor for 'Rang De Basanti'. It was nominated as the Best Foreign Film at the BAFTA Awards.

2006: In the same year Aamir gave another hit movie to Bollywood 'Fanaa'.

2007: Aamir Khan’s directorial debut Taare Zameen Par won Filmfare Best Movie Award and also won Best Director Award, the movie was much loved by the cinelovers and critics.

2008: Khan's notable relesae 'Ghajini' bombed at the box office and became the first movie to join the 100 crore club.

2009: Aamir Khan's '3 Idiots' hogged the headlines everywhere and and was a box office hit. The movie was highly praised and was the first to earn Rs 200 crore box office collection.

2010: 'Peepli Live' was his home production film. The film was another hit peice given by Khan.

2011: Khan's film 'Dhobi ghat' was also his home production and real entertainer.

2013: Aamir recreated his magic with the sequel of Dhoom series 'Dhoom 3' with Yash Raj Films' which was also one of the highest grossing films in Bollywood.

2014: Khan's recently released 'PK' was a huge hit. Amid controversies the movie became the first to join the Rs 300 crores club in Bollywood.
