Bangalore: NR Narayana Murthy's son Rohan says his father worked like a machine for Infosys and had only two passions in life -- wife Sudha and the company he founded.
"....only been two passions -- one of them is my mother, and the other is, of course, you all in the company," he said.
Murthy on Friday stepped down as the Non-Executive Chairman and Chief Mentor of Infosys, the company he founded with six others 30 years ago.
Incidentally, on Friday was his wife Sudha's birthday and on Saturday it is his birthday.
"From the time I remember the word Infosys, he is always like a machine, day-in-and-day-out, Monday through Sunday... (working for Infosys)," Rohan said at Murthy's farewell function late last evening.
Murthy always went to office, excited and with energy. He came back home tired sometimes, but still energetic, Rohan said, adding that his father always looked forward to working with employees. He further said his father's energy and excitement, in fact, indirectly helped improve the quality of life at home.
On behalf of his family, Rohan thanked the employees and the former employees of Infosys "for the joy, for the passion and everything good you have brought to him and indirectly to our family".
