Bathinda/ Barnala: Anti-corruption crusader and veteran social activist Anna Hazare on Wednesday said that he will not back down until Lokpal Bill is passed.

Making a strong pitch for the anti-corruption Lokpal Bill, the Gandhian leader said, “I won’t back down nor I will die till a strong Lokpal is brought. I will continue this crusade (against corruption) as long as I have life in me.” He was addressing his supporters in Bathinda.

Anna made an appeal to people to join his movement in fight corruption. Highlighting the importance of youth power and their ability to make India prosperous and super power, he urged them to stop using drugs and contribute in building nation’s image.

Earlier on Monday, Hazare had appealed the public to vote for politicians with a clean image, who can serve the public rather than "rule them", in the general elections due next year.

After launching his Janatantra Yatra (walk for democracy) on Sunday from Amritsar, Anna arrived in Bathinda on Wednesday amidst tight security. Hazare had announced that a Jan Sansad (People’s Parliament) would be held in New Delhi in  about five months to mark the beginning of the ‘people’s struggle against the misrule of the present government at the Centre.’
