New Delhi: Re-igniting the 23-years-old issue of Bofors payoff, yoga guru Baba Ramdev, who is on his anti-graft campaign against blackmoney, has expressed desire to meet UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi and ask her to bring the blackmoney that went through the Bofors channel and other modes to foreign nationals.

“I will definitely meet the UPA chairperson and ask her to bring back the blackmoney stashed away in foreign countries, said Ramdev who is gaining support from the political factions including the UPA allies for his anti-corruption drive.

However, the Congress, which has already dubbed the yoga guru as anti-Congress element, has slammed his statement.

Terming the statement as irresponsible and childish, senior party leader and Union Law Minister Salman Khurshid said, “It has already been proved that there was no form of irregularity in the Bofors case. So, what is the point making such irrational comment.”

Baba Ramdev is leaving no stone unturned to campaign against corruption and blackmoney. Continuing the mission, he has started meeting various political parties to seek support for the drive.

Notably, leading parties including BJP, NCP, JD(U) and RLD have openly backed Ramdev’s movement.

But getting support from the UPA chairperson seems to be a tough battle for the yoga guru as the Congress considers him as anti-Congress and all his drive as attack on the party.
