The company has also formed a new unit, Marketing, Innovations and Technology (MIT), which will be headed by Wipro's Global Infrastructure Services (GIS) Head G K Prasanna.

Earlier this week, in a major restructuring, Wipro named Abid Ali Neemuchwala as its new CEO, replacing TK Kurien. Neemuchwala, an ex-TCS veteran, will assume charge from next month.

Wipro Chairman Azim Premji was quoted saying: "Over the past five years, Wipro has been transforming into a next generation technology and consulting company with defining differentiators in the market place."

"The new structure will ensure smooth succession and will build on the solid foundation we have developed to drive superior growth and profitability," he had said.

In his role, Bhanumurthy will provide leadership to all the service lines (Business Application Services, Global Infrastructure Services, Product Engineering Services, Analytics, Application Management Services and Business Process Services), Service Transformation and Excellence, Global Delivery Enablement and Quality functions.

The new team will focus on non-linear growth engines, products and platform-based services, integrated solutions, research, and new technologies, the spokesperson said.
