Dehradun: The police on Saturday tightened the security arrangements at ‘Anand Van’, the residence of former Uttarakhand Chief Minister and senior Congress leader ND Tiwari after a woman allegedly tried to break into it.

A case has been filed against the women in this regard, Dehradun SSP Keval Khurana said.

Delhi resident Geeta on Thursday morning abruptly breached the security at the residence of Tiwari, expressing her desire to talk to the Congress leader in solitary, close sources said.

The accused also misbehaved with the Tiwari’s Officer on Special Duty (OSD) Bhawanidutt Bhatt, creating an absolute ruckus sources said.

As per the sources, Tiwari, fearing threat of defamation, wrote to the Director General of Police demanding proper investigation into the matter and security to his OSD.

Taking cognizance of the incident, the police have provided security to Tiwari’s OSD and also beefed up security arrangements at ‘Anand Van’.

Bhatt in his complaint has said that he had long telephonic conversations with the accused on November 7 during which she expressed her desire to talk to Tiwari in solitude. After the permission was denied, she abruptly visited the octogenarian leader’s residence and created panic the next morning.
In his complaint, Bhatt also suspected the incident as conspiracy to tarnish the image of the senior Congress leader.
